Residential Roofing in Christiansburg, Blacksburg & Radford

Blue Ridge Roofing & Home Improvement installs, replaces, and maintains residential roofs for homeowners in Christiansburg, Blacksburg, and Radford. We are a Class A Virginia contractor and have worked in the New River Valley since 2007, and estimates are free.

Two-story home with a new gray architectural shingle roof

A roof in this valley has to handle wind coming off the ridges, heavy rain, ice, and freeze-thaw cycles that open flashing and wear shingles. We look at the roof you have, then recommend asphalt shingles, metal, or a flat system based on the house, the budget, and how long you want the roof to last.

Residential Roofing: common questions

How much does a new roof cost in the New River Valley?

A typical residential roof replacement in our area ranges from $8,000 to $25,000 or more. Size, pitch, material, and complexity move the number. The free visit produces an itemized estimate for your house, not a generic package price.

How long does a roof replacement take?

A typical residential roof replacement takes 1–3 days. Larger or more complex houses take longer, and weather can move the schedule. We do not work in unsafe conditions, and we tell you when a delay changes the plan.

What warranty comes with a new roof?

Material warranties vary by manufacturer and product, typically from 20 years to lifetime coverage. We also warrant our workmanship, and we explain both before you approve the job.

How does payment work?

Financing is available. A deposit, usually 15% of the project cost, schedules the work and orders materials, and the balance is due when the job is done. The written estimate lists materials, labor, and any other costs we already know about.

When should I have my roof inspected?

We recommend a professional inspection every 2–3 years, and after a major storm. Missing shingles, ceiling stains, sagging, heavy granule loss, or a roof older than about 20 years are reasons to have it looked at. If a repair will do, we say so.

Residential Roofing in your town

Christiansburg

Christiansburg has older houses near downtown and newer subdivisions along the main roads through town. Open lots take more wind, so we pay attention to edge metal, ridge vents, and how the shingles are fastened, not only the color of the roof.

Blacksburg

In Blacksburg, in-town houses and rentals near downtown and Virginia Tech often have older roofs that need a repair-or-replace decision. Newer neighborhoods farther out are more often candidates for a full architectural-shingle or metal roof. We inspect the roof that is there before recommending either.

Blacksburg →

Radford

Radford is home base for us. Older houses are common there, including homes near the New River. Many of those roofs have been patched more than once. We will tell you when another repair is reasonable and when replacement is the more sensible use of the money.
